World Olivet Assembly churches around the world entered 2022 by holding midnight services and together concluding the old year and offering the first moment of the new year to God in prayer and worship.
As 2021 was another year that was overshadowed by the pandemic, congregations expressed their gratitude for God's protection and faithfulness, and they rejoiced over the many people who have found new life in Christ over the past twelve months. The new year of 2022 was opened with the hope of the prophecy of Isaiah 60, that God's light will break through the darkness that covers the earth.
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn." - Isaiah 60:1-3 NIV
May God's blessing be upon the new year and may many more people come to know the Lord Jesus Christ who has come into this world as the light that came into darkness. May they find comfort and rest for their souls, and may they discover the true meaning of life as they begin to follow him and become a light for others.
