World Olivet Assembly churches around the world greeted the New Year by offering a New Year's service at midnight, giving thanks for 2022 and offering the first moment of 2023 to the Lord.
At WOA's Olivet Chapel in Dover, NY, General Secretary Rev. Mark Spisak offered a prayer and then preached a sermon on Romans 1:7, where the Apostle Paul writes: "To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ."
"Grace and peace is what we wish for in the new year of 2023. Through grace, we receive peace. And the Apostle Paul reminds us that the grace comes from our Father God and from our Lord Jesus Christ," Rev. Spisak said.
He went on to encourage the congregation to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in the coming year, so that more people will find the same grace and peace. There are many thirsty people in every part of the world who are longing to hear the gospel to find true rest for their souls.
"May 2023 be a year where this grace and peace overflows in our own lives and spills over to those around us near and far."
