YEF to Transform Universities to Mission Institutions through Plate Events

Youth Evangelical Fellowship is establishing stable plate event schedules for local chapters in the summer. The college ministry hopes that through these plate events, ministers can radically transform universities into Godward mission institutes.

"Students are often bored with study and in need of interesting events to fill their schedules," shared General Secretary Pastor John Tsang. "As YEF organizes events that can help them build Godly friendships and relationships, young people will be able to change in their identities as they spend every free time engaged in Godly activities with Godly people."

Plate Events, which are often times commonly referred to as 'Large Group' in college ministry, usually begin with a prayer and a session of praise. Plate event can vary with many events including short messages from Bible or testimony.

The Plate Event can be a short Bible study with a group reflection time; or a video night where a Christian documentary is shown, and students will be given a chance to appropriately respond to the situation. Some events may include a worship night, or Prayer Stations, where students are guided to pray through different booths.

Plate Events are Christian events. For many fellowships, they become the center of their lives of the students. And this is why many students may decide to follow God through the college ministries and that's why college ministries are very important. As Plate Events create stronger relationships with leaders, the leaders can have more power to guide the students to study Bible and truly transform the life of someone through a later Bowl Event.

If Tray event is like a outreach form of church ministry. Plate event is more of Sunday service form of Church that contains more people with culture of praise and sharing.

Placing additional focus on YEF's ministry model, YEF has provided an outline on how normal Plate Events should be and has now shifted the focus on fellowship size according to the size of Plate Events. Classifying each fellowship according to Plate Event attendance, YEF will begin to hold chatting and provide strategies according to the size of each fellowship.
