St. Luke Society Prepares Participants for Project Healing Hands

St. Luke Society held its advance seminar for its short-term medical mission program called Healing Hands. The training was conducted for participants who will be leaving for the Philippines soon for the program.

Those who attended took the time to fill out the participation pledges and the personal statement together with the brief greetings. Everyone introduced themselves and gave a presentation on the preparation of medical treatment.

The Secretary of St. Luke Society, Jeongho Shim, introduced the final schedule and information on the flight, preparation, service area, accommodation and other meeting locations.

The president Myeongseop Shin shared the progress of Healing Hands preparation and introduced program details on registration, medical service, and hygiene issues and meals. He also introduced the schedule of volunteer activities, the composition of the medical staff, the role of each department, and other general concerns.

Subsequent meetings were organized by teams of each department (internal medicine, dentistry, and orthopedic surgery) to discuss issues such as drug distribution, assistance and cooperation.

One attendant commented, "I am worried because I am still a student with little practical experience. I do not know many things, but I would like to cooperate with doctors and local volunteers and deliver warm love to many."

"I want to take care of the ministry that I have been entrusted by God's love, in prayer, though I am very lacking."
