WOA Welcomes Public Representatives to Its New Great Commission University Campus in Howe, Indiana

WOA welcomes public representatives to its new Great Commission University campus in Howe, Indiana

Howe, Indiana - September 25, 2020

Today, World Olivet Assembly (WOA) hosted a meeting with a group of Indiana State representatives, LaGrange county community leaders and local religious and business leaders of Howe to share its vision and plans toward establishing its denomination based school, the Great Commission University (GCU), on the former campus of Howe Military Academy.

Several key leaders from WOA and GCU gave presentations to introduce the history and purpose of GCU as well as its denominational background and affiliations.

Pastor Mark Spisak, General Secretary of World Olivet Assembly, opened the meeting with prayer and gave an overview of the vision, mission and network of World Olivet Assembly and shared about the journey how God had led WOA to acquire the campus in Howe, Indiana in June this year.

Spisak went on to share that the Assembly anticipates starting the process to recruit students from among its churches around the world as soon as all the legal approvals are met and the school will be able to officially start its operation. Despite the ongoing challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic, the WOA leadership hopes that the situation will improve in the near future and is preparing all the necessary steps to be ready to accept students on campus. Meanwhile, the school is also preparing online courses that will pave the way for the onsite programs.

Pastor Stephen Tsang, who represents the various parachurch organizations under the WOA umbrella, presented the unique roles of fellowships within the denominational network and their contribution to expanding the body of Christ.

Dr. Paul Foerster, who serves as President, and Pastor Nicolas Haman, Chairman of Great Commission University, presented on the current progress on renovation and the preparation of facilities toward the commencement of the school.

The guests welcomed the introductions and presentations and had an opportunity to engage with WOA and GCU leaders during a questions & answers time, which allowed for some further clarifications regarding the anticipated timeline to prepare GCU for full operation. They expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and are looking forward with excitement to seeing the school open and running, and reviving the Howe Campus.
