Cell Leadership Training in Lusaka on Church Planting in Africa

The sessions on the last day of the Cell Leadership Training held in Lusaka, Zambia, was on new strategies and lessons on church planting in Africa. Pastor Mussonda who is a cell leaders of Kabana district in Lusaka offered practical resources during his presentation entitled "Church Planting, Calling and Leadership of Church Planter" to the cell leaders from other regions.  

The topics of this lesson covered necessary characters of church planters and strategies for planting church around the mission field. Pastor Mussonda said, "Church planter is supposed to know Jesus first," and "Good testimony is supposed to have Jesus Christ, too."

He also shared on the qualities of a leader such as loyalty and love, eagerness and earnestness, adaptablility, responsibility to authority, practice of hospitality, and open heart to receive inspiration. He taught the cell leaders to have priority for God's Kingdom and to be a true worshipper of God. 

Speaking from his own experience doing missions in Africa, Pastor Mussonda emphasized why it is important to be free from responsibilities to blood relations in African context, and other areas that need to be develoeped such as having charisma as a minister, giving prayer regularly, having knowledge of the bible, and conducting necessary research about potential local areas to evangelize.  

He said, "Church is not a building, it starts from inside of us." He shared that church is supposed to provide the Bible first rather than plain words or philosophy.  

He also shared with all church planters that they need to contunue researching locals in pioneering just like marketing strategy so that they are able to manage, keep statistics and engage people from that area.

All cell leaders and members who joined the leadership training expressed great interest to this practical lessons. 

Organized by Olivet Assembly of Zambia, the cell leadership training began last week Thursday with total of 15 leaders, including 7 cell leaders and 8 church department leaders. They got a time to clarifying cell church and affiliation to make regulation. They also learned lessons about church system and reporting protocol for cell leaders to be firm in the word of God.
